Neighborhood Profile: South Oleander & Glen Meade

Located just south of Downtown Wilmington and just west of Midtown, the South Oleander area is extremely well situated at the center of Wilmington. Its location near the New Hanover Regional Medical Center makes it an ideal neighborhood for healthcare professionals, with quick access to some of the major roads in New Hanover County like South College Rd, Oleander Dr, and US 421, as well as a quick commute to UNCW.

Homes:

Being a neighborhood in high demand, South Oleander was the site of many architect built homes in the 20th century. The Trask Hooper House (Pictured, Above) was constructed in 1957 by renowned Wilmington Architecture firm, Ballard, McKim, & Sawyer. In 1969, famed Wilmington architect Charles Boney began construction on his own residence (Right).

The Median Sales Price of homes in South Oleander and Glen Meade have tended to hover around $400k recently (pictured below).
